Just like the title says, i have a problem with my ethernet. My normal download speed is about 50-55 mbps but for some reason its stuck at 10 Mbps as provided with the photos. My Speed & Duplex is set as Auto Negotiation but I've tried to change it to 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps but they don't seem to do anything, in the settings it looks like its fixed but after like 5 or 10 seconds its back to 10 Mbps. I've tried to install all available old drivers from my pc, and it worked for about a day but its back at 10 Mbps and reverting back to old drivers doesn't seem to do the job anymore. I've searched everything but couldn't do anything. Installed the newest drivers from Acer's official site but still doesn't work.

    Update: I've tested with another PC and it doesn't seem to be from my laptop. I don't think anything changed from the router so it probably is from the ethernet cable. Its an old cable with a lot of bruises, the connector of the cables thingies (I have no idea what they are called, the things that make a click sound when connected) were broken so I've changed the ends of the cable at a local electrican. Maybe he wired wrong? Is there like anything I can do to troubleshoot if its via router or cable?

    Hi @Labne,

    Make sure the your ethernet cable used is of good quality (cat 5e or 6 recommend).

    Check if the 8P8C (RJ45) connectors are using the T568B wiring diagram:

    My experience (with a well maintained Windows11 system) is that 99% of high internet latency (Ping), slow speed and many drop-outs are due to insufficient bandwidth by the ISP, heavy traffic, outdated protocol (LTE instead of LTE-A with the 5.0 GHz band) or power outages supplying repeaters and of course routine comm. maintenance. If I have slow internet, I just reset my router, don't even check my laptop network/adapter settings anymore and wait for better speed. We live remotely, use 2 different ISPs both pre-paid (LTE-A), one as a back-up on a daily basis. Our portable routers don't have LAN ports, but there is cable internet available near our area and we hear the same thing, always the ISP never PCs.

    @Labne

    It might be from the cable. The contacts might be corroded so it limits the speed to 10Mbs. Try to change to a different cable or replace the ethernet connector head if the cable is fine.
