I've recently reinstalled Windows 7 (x64) on my Aspire 5750z laptop and cannot find any Wifi drivers. I've been able to get drivers for the ethernet but cannot find the wifi drivers. Both on Acer's official site and third party sites. Does anyone know where I can get the drivers to make wifi work?

  • Hello! The best answer is to find the idhardware of that device in the device manager and then copy and paste it into Google. You can also copy and paste here.

The wifi/bt card in your Aspire 5750Z should be a Qualcomm Atheros, (that is what my Aspire 5750G had when I bought my Aspire 5750 new) so its wise to get the exact wifi/bt card model number first that is fitted inside your laptop and then look up for the appropriate driver for that card.

If its a Qualcomm Atheros card and for Win-7 OS last drivers, look up the Unofficial Qualcomm Atheros drivers website as they have drivers for Win-7 and 8 and 10. If this side doesn't have the WLAN drivers for your card, then look up the web as there are allot of specialty sites with drivers for these old laptops.

Below is what Acer lists in the Aspire 5750/5750G service guide for wifi/bt cards fitted to these laptops, if you have a different card then the model number should be written in Device Manager Network adaptors.

Looking at device manager I can only find a broadcom ethernet adapter - which I have installed the drivers for - and a mysterious "Network Controller" which I cannot find any information on in device manager.

Nevermind, I was able to identify the "Network Controller" as the Atheros AR5B97, I was able to get the drivers from the site you mentioned and downloaded them, and installed them via device manager. I am now able to connect to my internet wirelessly. Thanks for the help!
