edited October 2023 in Predator Desktops

Back in 2020, I bought an Acer Predator Orion 3000 with a RTX 2080 GPU from Acer off of Amazon. When the desktop came however…it was DOA. Plugging it in powered in the motherboard and the PCIe port for the GPU, but the GPU itself would not boot, therefore, it would not show an image on my monitor. I called Acer SO MANY TIMES telling them about this and all I ever got was "we will send you a return label" and never got one. A [Content Removed] year passes by and now they’re requiring that I pay for the full repair. [Content Removed] that. I stopped calling afterwards and let this computer sit in my closet for a few years. Fast forward to only a week ago in 2023. I had a friend come over and I told him about my computers issue. Mind you, at this time, I still had no idea what was going on as I had expended my knowledge regarding the GPUs lack of power. He took..probably 2 minutes to figure out what was going on and said "they put a maximum 500W power supply in your computer when your GPU needs a minimum of 650W…" I was livid…to test his theory, he put an RTX 1060 in my desktop and the thing powered right on and a picture popped up on my screen. He reset the BIOS, put my GPU back in…nothing. So, to FURTHER test his theory, he took my card home and hooked it up to his rig that is powered by a 1000W Power Supply and the GPU powered on and ran beautifully. It was getting 120FPS in his game StarBound or whatever. Only problem was that the fan is running at max speed for no reason and it is not being detected by the motherboard. If you plan to buy ANYTHING from Acer, do not buy a pre-built desktop or you might get scammed by them. Screw these guys…ESPECIALLY for [Content Removed] me over like they did with the return label, and then my hardware
