Predator Helio 300 not booting up, only power light flashes for 10 sec and KB light for 2sec

I have had my Predator Helio 300 for a few years now (3 or 4, I can't remember how long exactly).

I have never had any issues with it until recently, but I have started to have a few issues with it when booting up. Well, I say booting up, that's the problem, it doesn't!

It happened last week, I tried to boot it up again 3 or 4 times and eventually it worked, but I was outside using it yesterday for work and it just would not load up at all.

I tried booting it up with and without the power cable connected, but it still did not work.

The light at the side of the laptop was on for about 10 seconds, and the keyboard flashed 2 or 3 times as though it was trying to boot up. but then it just died.

The screen remained black/blank throughout.

It was very cold outside, so I thought that may be the issue, so when I went back indoors later on I tried it again and it worked perfectly fine then.

It was fine when I got home too.

The concern I have is that I have had the issue twice in the space of a week, so I am wondering if there is something wrong with the laptop, possibly the battery, and the problem is going to get worse over time?

Maybe I need a new battery?

Or could it be a hardware problem?

I found it strange regards to the temperature outside though because everybody else's laptops were working fine (although they weren't Predator Helio 300s, maybe they were designed for outdoor use more than my laptop).

Can anybody offer any advice please, as I am keen to avoid this happening again?

If you haven't replaced the battery in 4 years you should generate a Battery Report (Command: powercfg /batteryreport) in Windows and check the present capacity and how that compares with the design capacity (wear), also how many hours left are estimated presently for the battery at the end of the report. If the results are bad get a new battery, browse your full Helio 300 model number with "Battery" in front and look for the best deal, eBay is reliable.

Don't know which Predator you have, but 4 to 5 years is about the lifespan of a battery, and having a battery that is not charging and/or providing adequate power for a laptop like the a gaming laptop like the Predator, is what is causing many of the symptoms that you are getting. Get a new battery as the longer you don't replace the battery the more you could damage your laptop components if you use it outdoors and on battery power.
