My computer just shut off and won't turn back on. When I press the power button the power indicator flashes 5 times but it wont turn on even though the blue light means its on. I've looked around and found that it might be in S3 state but I'm not sure.

If you are using Windows11 it may well be the new S0 Modern Standby protocol that causes this (S3 is Legacy Sleep Mode). How old is your battery? If you believe your battery is in good condition do the following:
Check if there is a small pinhole in the back of your laptop (with a battery sign) and stick a pin in that hole till you feel it click (micro switch), keep pressing the pin for a few seconds. This will reset the battery.

Power drain + CMOS reset: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module (with 2 twisted wires Red and Black) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule for 2 seconds with a bended paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule and reseat the 2 RAM modules: make sure they are firmly seated in the slots. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds after that reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot. When you can boot to Windows again, change the Power Plan to Balanced Power Plan and reset that plan to factory defaults, disable hibernate and Fast Startup.

I suggest that you do a Hard Reset as I’ve got a Nitro laptop and this happened to me and after doing a hard reset it fixed everything, so take the main battery out and then disconnect the rtc/bios battery also and take the ram out, leave these components unplugged for 15min and afterwards put everything back together, while you are waiting, clean the fans and even repaste the cpu and gpu and then put everything together and reboot your Nitro, as this resets the Super IO chip, chipset and bios which one of them could have frozen.

This is a common thing with the Nitro laptops, it happened to my Nitro, and after I did a hard reset I never experienced not being able to turn the laptop on again. If the hard reset doesn’t fix this problem then you have an issues within the main power stages of the laptop that is either has a burned or shorted capacitor or mosat that you need to take your laptop to either Acer Tech Support or an experienced tech in your area, so that can change and fix this problem of your laptop.
