I've been tracking an earlier post about touch screens "touching themselves" that may be the same issue.  I don't have the same environment here and reported another possibly related problem with ageing mouse batteries on an Acer Z3731.  We need to check to see if all the problem reports are coming from users who are running Windows 8 and have Acer supplied versions of "Clear FI" software installed.  I had a lot of problems with Clear FI on my older machine running Windows 7 X64 and have essentially disabled it. Questions:

    1)  Are you running Windows 8 32 or 64 bit?

    2)  Did that system ship with Clear FI software, or does it rely on Microsoft's touch screen support?
