Hey All - I just recently purchased a PO5-640 Orion 5000 from a sale from Costco online that was kind of too good to pass up. Mine has the i7 12700F, RTX 3080 and 16gb of ram. I've been researching it quite a bit (even though I haven't even received it yet).
While it seems from the research I've done the cooling isn't terrible, I'd like to make some changes and I'm trying to see what upgrade paths are available. My initial thought was to simply add 2x 120mm fans to the top of the case and be done with it - but I know I want to upgrade the ram also potentially to 4x16gb. It seems likely that taller ram in all 4 slots will interfere with the stock CPU air cooler, so rather than buy the 2 fans, I could just buy a 240mm AIO which will make lots of space around the CPU socket and will also just come with the two fans.
From all the research I've done, information about swapping in a 240mm AIO liquid cooler into the Orion 5000 case is spotty at best. It seems that the PO5-640 Orion 5000 has two distinct differences from the PO7-640 Orion 7000 relating to installing an AIO:
- The top of the case has a different mesh covering on the Orion 7000 which is flat with the case rather than dished downwards on the Orion 5000
- The actual case chassis appears to be different - in the space under the top case mesh the metal chassis appears to protrude upward on the Orion 7000 to provide physical space for the radiator of an AIO cooler

So with all of that said, the questions I have for the group are as follows
- Has anyone seen a 240mm AIO liquid cooler installed in a PO5-640 Orion 5000?
- Can anyone confirm if all of my above findings are in fact correct?
- If I were to purchase the flat top cover for the Orion 7000 (which I found you can buy from this forum) - would the differing chassis in the Orion 5000 still allow mounting of a radiator and fans for the AIO? On the 7000 - the fans can be mounted onto the radiator and then mounted into the extra cavity at the top. With the 5000, I'm assuming the radiator would have to be mounted in the top cavity and screws would have to pass through the metal case and then into the fans which would be mounted inside the case directly over the motherboard.
- Does anyone know if the flat metal mesh can be purchased on it it's own - or does it have to be purchased with the entire new top cover (below). I'm assuming the two mesh pieces are interchangeable, but I don't know that for sure.
