I have an Acer Spin 713-2w that is about 1.5 years old. It has been working great until recently. It's original charger stopped working but have been using other usb-C chargers and it worked okay though a bit slower. Very recently it started not taking a charge, but you could use it when it was plugged in. Now it stays totally dead and wont boot up. I'm using a charger for a different chromebook and have left it on the charger for several hours and over night. I've done this with different chargers with no results. It stays totally dead with black screen just a little life in the power led.
When it is plugged in the orange charging light comes on. When i try holding the refresh key with the power key the orange light flashes blue then returns orange with no action. When I unplug it there is no led when trying to boot up but when i try with the refresh key pressed it flashes the blue light once and goes dark again with no action. I am out of my warrant period and not sure how to proceed. The other chromebook charger I'm trying is from a new low end Asus.

So your Chromebook uses a USB-C charger and needs 45W to charge at full speed. That can be 20V@2.25A or 15V@3A. It will also charge with 5V, 9V or 12V but since there's a 3A limits those voltages will either charge much slower, or potentially not charge at all unless the laptop is turned off. If the battery light is coming on orange then that is an indication charging is working, if it doesn't switch to blue after a number of hours that's an indication it never reaches full charge. Make sure your charger is putting out enough power, preferably at 20V, and try charging at least overnight with the laptop powered off. If the light it still orange then likely the battery has failed and will need to be replaced.
