I had my laptop in my bag today and basically ended up with food in the media ports. It was working perfectly fine prior to this, but after that, I cleaned out the food. Mistakenly, I used a vacuum, which I hear is actually pretty bad. And after I had cleaned it, it would not turn on and the charging light would not turn on when I plugged in the charging cable. I saw online that I should press the power button underneath the laptop for 15-30s. I did this, waited, and plugged my charger in and the light turned on. Currently working now. I am just asking whether I should be cautious about anything, such as doing any system updates now, etc.

Compressed air and vacuum cleaners should never be used to clean the fan as laptop impellers and fan bearings are very delicate. Cleaning other parts should not be a problem if you disconnect the battery first. No need you change your laptop routine, always update and backup at least monthly and do proper system maintenance, like after turning on internet pasting this line in the Command Prompt opened as Administrator: Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth press Enter and rerun when not successful. Then run this inthe same Command Prompt: SFC /scannow
