Acer Aspire 5 Battery reset button stuck

My laptop was not turning on after frequent hibernation and i was forced to reset the laptop battery using the pin hole in the back. Since then my laptop will die if i unplug the charging cable. When i opened the back , i saw that the battery reset button is stuck. While trying to pull up the stuck button , it came off. Now my laptop is working on battery without cable plugged. I am worried if the absence of that reset button module will cause any harm to the laptop.

It's nothing but a tiny microswitch that disconnects the battery when pushed in, that circuit is probably open now so you can only power the laptop with the adapter plugged in. Although no issues running without battery better use a UPS and get the switch replaced at Acer Services in your country, a minor repair job. You risk losing your data and system crashing when there is a utility power brownout.
