Is it possible to run Swift 7 if battery is dead?

The battery on my Acer Swift 7 is dead. Is there any trick to force the laptop to start with the connected power adapter?

I installed a generic battery, the laptop is running, but I'm afraid not for long. And even with the original battery it was pretty disappointing when it refused to start suddenly, so I need a way to work on my laptop even with a dead battery or without battery at all.

There are more than 120 different Swift 7 models and batteries range between $50-$80. For a 4-year-old laptop that should be still worth the expenditure? You can run the laptop without battery without issues but I would remove the battery and use an UPS with your adapter in case of power brownouts, so you won't lose your data and crash your system. The laptop may not boot if the battery is dead but try to boot with the battery disconnected or completely removed and it will probably boot OK.

oh thanks, probably I was not patient enough. When the battery is disconnected, it does not start immediately, but with some delay. Or maybe the bottom cover should be attached, previously I tried with the disconnected lid.

I already changed the battery once. The original one worked 3,5 years, I had prolonged guarantee and it was replaced by Acer. That one endured less than two years. Now I tried noname battery, it works, but not charging, probably something with controller.

Anyway, thanks a lot. Now I can at least use it.
