I apologize in advance if this is not worded correctly.

I have an Acer Nitro 50-640. My C is on an NVME 500GB and my other drive is an NVME 1TB. Im trying to add another 1TB SSD and I am not sure if I need a power cable??? for the drive or im just doing something wrong. Or, I have messed it all up. I was told I just needed the SATA cable (smaller end) and it would power the drive.

This is where I am beginning to be confused.

I initialized the drive through a USB connection (had a portable case that I threw the SSD into). Then I connected the SATA to the motherboard and I get nothing. Meaning, I ran the command windows +r diskmgmt for the initialization when it was USB connected. Connecting to motherboard, it doesn't show the drive now. If this is as simple as I need a power source then great, but is there an adapter for this and if so where would it connect? the only thing I see coming from the power supply casing are black wires, three ends( two 6 hole ends and a 2 hole end connector) i thought these were for the GPUs if i ever decided to upgrade.

the only video I can find looks like it's already in the PC, these cords are not in mine unless they're are the ones I think are for a GPU. I can help more if this isn't clear enough I really just don't know how to ask this properly. Thank you for any and all help!
