Hi all,

I'll be honest I'm not tech smart. But my Acer Nitro 5 laptop wont hold a network connection. I keep going to turn wifi back on but the button literally disappears. I am CONSTANTLY rebooting my laptop. I literally can't do anything on here because it'll drop wifi. I have looked in device manager to update drivers and it constantly says "It's the best driver available". I'm getting very angry with this. Thank you in advanced.

Find out if this is your router/hotspot causing the disconnects or your system by connecting a LAN cable to your router and Ethernet port and connect to a different Wi-Fi hotspot, outside in a public place.

If LAN has the same problem, it may be your server (ISP) that switches DNS or channel, try to simplify your network properties to IPv4 only:

Try also to turn off Windows Defender and disable all 3rd-party AV and browsers.

Could you please explain how you got to that point, sorry.

  • Hi @Irishdevil1165 please indicate the exact model of your computer and the version of Windows installed.

It is connected to a 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network. or at 5Ghz?

Is it too far from the router?
If it is, stand right next to the router and check if outages also occur.

    Thank you.
    All the best.

@Irishdevil1165 go to the device manager, check the name of the Wifi card, and search that card name for the latest driver on Intel website.

Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

    Try these procedures:

    Disable the adapter shutdown option:

    Open Device Manager:
Windows key + R and type:
    devmgmt.msc
    ok
    Deploy Network Adapters.
Right-click on Ethernet/Wireless Adapters and click Properties.
    Click Power Management.
Clear the check mark next to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    Click OK
    Check

Reset TCP/IP settings on your PC:

Right click on the Windows prompt and open Terminal (admin)
In the window type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press enter.
    Restart your PC and check.

Resetting the Winsock catalog may also help you:

Right click on the Windows prompt and open Terminal (admin)
In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes and press enter.
    Restart your PC and check.

    Thank you.
    All the best.

Sorry lads. Been a hectic week. Booted up my laptop and I found in the device manager. The "Intel(R( Wireless AC 9560 160MHz. Is not working, it says "Code 10" and the device cannot start. I'm starting to believe that's the culprit

  • Code 10 is an incorrect driver:

    Thank you.

Well. I added the driver that eGomes provided and it's still happening.

  • Uninstall the one from Intel and please install the one provided by Acer for your computer, restart and go to Windows Update:

But this driver is for Windows 10, do you have Windows 10 or Windows 11 installed?

    All the best.

    Windows 11 is what I

  • Okay, although Acer does not yet have the drivers for Windows 11, in this case the Intel ones should have worked, but since you still have problems, try installing the Acer ones and uninstall the Intel ones, restart, go to Windows Update and check the behavior of the WiFi device again.

    All the best.

It is also possible that error code 10 is being caused by:

    • Fast startup;
    • Device (LowerFilters / UpperFilters);
    • Wireless AutoConfig Service (WlanSvc) isn't running.
