Hello All,

I have acer aspire 5 a515 laptop bought in 2017,Now with broken screen and some key missing. (with Windows 10 installed)

I want to convert it into a desktop, so my question is:

A. How to ensure It will boot without looking for internal monitor.

B. How to remove the keyboard and body and ensure that it still turn on. (Replacing power button)

@xXxninja use the FN+F7 to switch the projection mode to external display only.

It must have the keyboard to power on the laptop.

Thank you and have a nice day!
    1. Connect external monitor thought HDMI Port when laptop is turned off
    2. Press laptop power button then close laptop lid fast and gently (don't break it).
    3. Make sure it is completely close
    4. It might work

    A. How to ensure It will boot without looking for internal monitor.

To ensure that your Acer Aspire 5 A515 laptop boots without looking for the internal monitor, you can try the following:

    1. Connect the laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI or DisplayPort cable.
    2. Boot up the laptop.
    3. Once the laptop has booted up, press the Windows key + P to open the projection menu.
    4. Select Duplicate or Extend to output the video signal to the external monitor.
    5. Once you have selected the desired projection mode, close the projection menu.

The laptop should now boot without looking for the internal monitor.

    B. How to remove the keyboard and body and ensure that it still turn on. (Replacing power button)

To remove the keyboard and body of your Acer Aspire 5 A515 laptop, you will need to follow the instructions in the laptop's service manual. These manuals can usually be found on the manufacturer's website.

Once you have removed the keyboard and body, you will need to locate the power button cable. This cable will be connected to the motherboard. Disconnect the power button cable from the motherboard.

To replace the power button, simply connect the new power button cable to the motherboard in the same place where the old cable was connected.

Once you have replaced the power button, you can reassemble the laptop and test it to make sure that it still turns on.
