So I installed a Predator SSD GM7000 1 TB to my second ssd slot. Seemed to install fine. I have been able to save some photos to it, etc. However, when I try a large install, such as a game. The install starts, but then stops a few minutes in, and the drive is no longer found until I reboot. Sometimes takes multiple reboots. Anybody know what the problem is, and/or fix? Thanks in advance.

Just a bit of history on the Acer Predator 1TB GM7000 M.2 SSD PCIe4x4 which is a Biwin drive and not built by Acer, as Acer announced a partnership with Biwin and the GM7000 M.2 SSD is their first Predator drive from this partnership, which could also be a problem, so be aware of this. Biwin previously worked heavily with HP, which includes the FX900 Pro. Biwin provides services with flash binning and the manufacture of drives. It is not surprising that the GM7000 is so close to the HP FX900 Pro drive. It does mean that you have a bit better idea of what you’re getting. Otherwise, you are relying on Acer’s support for warranty and software. The Biwin Predator 1TB GM7000 is a good drive, particularly at 2TB, as it balances performance and efficiency nicely with reasonable support, but it does not particularly stand out as the top drive in this category and is price is way too high, so be aware of these factors.

The Predator 1TB GM7000 is 100% compatible with your Predator PG315-55 laptop SSD1 and SSD2 M.2 slots and should work 100% and without freezing or crashing with any software. How did you install the Predator 1TB GM7000 M.2 SSD drive into the SSD2 slot? As after you install this drive into SSD2 slot, you need to go into Disk Management, then initialize the drive and then format it to GUID (GPT) then you need to give the new M.2 SSD a drive letter like "D" as doing all that will make this SSD2 M.2 slave drive be recognized and be shown in windows File Explorer.

You should make sure and refresh the drive drivers of this laptop by installing the iIRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver version 19.1.0.1001 so unzip this drive and install this driver and see if the new Predator GM7000 M.2 SSD works better with this new version drive installed and stops any freezes or crashes. I don't know if the Predator 1TB GM7000 drive has any Acer software that comes with the drive, but if it does see if there is any firmware update from Acer, as that aloo helps with the functionality of these drives, also see the game that you are installing, as that could be the problem also as it could have an error, also see if this drive is doing this to other software's? As a top-quality drive like this should be working perfectly in your Predator laptop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Make sure the drive is aligned right in the slot and that the screw is fully secured…
