There is one 4GB DDR3L module soldered on the motherboard, and you have one slot free to upgrade with a 8GB DDR3 module, Total supported RAM is 12GB.

    Memory type DDR3L SDRAM
Form factor SODIMM (Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module)
Recommended RAM clock speed 1600MHz (PC3-12800)
    Voltage Low - 1.35V (DDR3L / PC3L)
    Number of pins 204-pin

The fact that your Crucial DDR3L 1600MHz is not working could mean a timing (CL) issue. Take the 8GB module out and run CPU-Z to find the timing at 1600 MHz (timing must match the soldered DDR3 module) or run this command: wmic memorychip list full. Ideally you should try a 4GB DDR3L identical to the soldered DDR4 module (same part number). Google that part number you see in CPU-Z or WMIC and buy exactly that module if you can find it. That way you will be running in Dual Channel mode with 2x4GB DDR3L modules (8GB). the size difference is small and 8GB is sufficient for W10. The speed will be up to1600 MHz possibly a bit lower.
