I have this laptop connected to my 'dumb' tv full time. It must have run an update while I was at work because when I got home it wouldnt boot up.

I've got it to a point where I can see the Recovery screen, error code: 0xc000000f

I messed around in the BIOS menu, trying to learn a fix online, to no avail.

    Perform this procedure:

Connect the USB with the computer turned off, turn it on and press F12 to select the USB.

Once the installation starts, select language, format and keyboard, next and select "Repair your computer - fix problems - command prompt"

    Writes:

    cd..
    enter
    C:
    enter

    Write now:

    bootrec /fixmbr
    enter
    bootsect /nt60 sys
    enter
    bootrec /fixboot
    enter

    bcdedit /export c:\bcdbackup
    enter
    attrib c:\boot\bcd -h -r -s
    enter

    ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
    enter
    bootrec /rebuildbcd
    enter

When asked "Do you want to add the installation to the boot list?"
    Press "S"

    Writes:

  • Hi @andman2002 that error 0xc000000f may indicate a problem of corruption of the BCD store which is where the boot record is stored and for that reason BIOS does not find the boot to start Windows.

Can you indicate the version of Windows installed, is it Windows 10?

    Thank you.
    Sincerely.

    windows 11.

  • Could a repair be attempted so as not to have to install Windows 11 again, do you have a USB with Windows 11 with the ISO downloaded from Microsoft created with the tool that appears on the same page?

If you don't have it, create it:

Tell me to prepare the repair procedure.

    Thank you.

    All the best.
