My Acer Travelmate P446-M's trackpad only works with the pad of my finger in Linux

Okay so when I tried installing Linux on my laptop I noticed the tip of my finger would not make the trackpad move, only the pad of my finger. I've tried many drivers and config files + many distros but only Windows seems to work normally with my trackpad, this is the only other thing I could find on the issue
but nothing worked and its also outdated as its referring to an old version of Ubuntu and it was made 8 years ago, If someone could help me resolve this it would be amazing.

Since Acer didn't release a version of that model with any distribution of Linux, you will have to reach out to the Linux developer community to see if there are any better drivers… They used an ALPS touchpad if that is any help.
