Hi all! i have an old acer nitro 50-600 i have i3-8100 gtx 1050 2gb ram 8gb. Can I upgrade it to the maximum? by changing the case, putting an rtx 4090 or 4080 there, replacing the power supply, installing water cooling there and changing it to i9-9900k. Will the motherboard take out my tasks? No fireworks and sparks? Has anyone done this, does anyone have any experience with this?

You're trying to upgrade an older desktop series with a proprietary mainboard
& case design. So if you're looking for a slam-dunk no-brain drop-in without problems, fahgeddaboudit. Go to this link. Then send a PM to RealTrader to see how he made out. The PSU might be the main issue since the max that will fit & work with the mainboard is ~550watts. A generic case might help reduce PSU & PCIe card space limitations but not the mainboard. Furthermore, some mods on a generic case might be needed to accomodate the current location of some external ports on the Acer.

If it was mine, the time & expense of trying to upgrade like this with no guarantees, would certainly outweigh the time & expense of shopping for a new desktop that can do what I want.

You will need to replace the motherboard in order to take the CPU anywhere beyond the 8th gen CPUs. Otherwise it should all be doable, though you are likely best off to just replace the whole machine.
