Acer Swift 3 SF314 (2018) turns on, turns off and then stays on but screen remains black

Hey guys would appreciate some help on my current situation. I have a 5 year old Acer Swift 3 SF314-54 (2018) which was working perfectly fine until I tried changing the battery ( I bought the same model of battery to replace). The laptop was still working when I turned it on after replacement. But I closed the lid (my automatic setting is to hibernate) to flip over and screw on the backplate. After that, all I get from my laptop when I press the power button is that the keyboard will light up, turn off for a few seconds and will start and stay running (fans spin at full speed and keyboard backlight is on) until I force shut down. There is nothing displayed on the screen or through the external monitor. I have also noticed that when I plug in the charger, the laptop turns on by itself without me needing to press the power button.

Anyone has experienced this before and has ideas how I can go about fixing this?

Resuming from hibernate mode (S4) when plugging in the power adapter is normal. You should leave the lid actions to "Do Nothing". Replacing the battery while in hibernate mode (the system remains in a low-power state) may have corrupted BIOS. I recommend a hard reset, reset the CMOS/BIOS and do a Power Drain procedure. Also unseat and reseat the DDR4 in the slot if present. Completely shut down either with Start and Power>Shutdown menu or if not possible keep the Power Button pressed down for 6 seconds. Unplug the power adapter and any other devices, remove the back with a special precision laptop screwdriver set and disconnect the battery cable from the MOBO. Locate the round CMOS capsule with the 2 red and black twisted wires and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule with a bended paperclip for a second and replace the coin battery with the + sign facing up. Close the CMOS capsule and unseat and reseat the DDR4 module, if there is one in slot 1. Press the Power Button on the keyboard for 1 minute and reconnect the battery. Try to boot.
