So ive had my laptop for less than a year and it usually stays plugged in because i have a desk with 2 monitors but i did occasionally unplug it and use it but one day i unplugged it and it died so i went to plug it in and now it just won't charge ive tried every thing i even opened it up un plugged the battery and plugged it back in but nothing so far has worked what should i do?

i was also wondering if just keeping the battery unplugged would work better or keep it plugged in even though it wont charge?

It doesn't matter leaving the power adapter plugged in 24/7 or unplug the adapter when not using the laptop and battery is fully charged (blue charging LED).

You opened the laptop while it was still under 1-year warranty. This probably voided the Acer warranty so you may as well do the full reset and power drain procedure: Completely shut down with the Power>Shutdown menu (taskbar). Unplug the power adapter and any other devices, remove the back of your laptop with a special precision laptop screwdriver set and disconnect the battery cable from the MOBO. Locate the round CMOS capsule with the 2 red and black twisted wires and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule with a bended paperclip for a second and replace the coin battery with the + sign facing up. Close the CMOS capsule and unseat and reseat the DDR4 module(s). Press the Power Button on the keyboard for 1 minute and reconnect the battery. Try to boot. If the battery still won't charge uninstall the 2 battery drivers in Device manager and reboot.
