I downloaded the latest BIOS from Acer's web site R01_A3 but which one do I use (there are 4 folders) and how do I install it? I am currently running Windows 11 and BIOS R01-A1. Not my first BIOS install but this is very confusing.

Thank you,
Randy

How much more official could it be? It's from Acer's Support site and that doesn't answer my question. My computer is a TC-895 (Not an XC-895)

Isn't there another way (instructions per the link) to upgrade my BIOS without reconfiguring it first?

    Did you download and

Do as the Appendix states for Win.

    1.1 Get Acer BIOS Package.
1.2 Copy “UCP” folders including files to a storage device.

Then run as administrator per the graphical illustration

That means to copy & paste the "UCP" folder to a bootable disc.

I've forgotten how, I made a bootable disc. But Google or You Tube.

Be sure that your bios is Boot Menu is enabled and after F10 and saving it then do an F12 to select your USB.

    All was from my TC-895.

Just be careful and do as the instruction state and DO NOT POWER off during the procedure as the screen will go black for awhile. Do not POWER OFF

Normally you extract the zip file, the enter the WIN folder and double click the install.bat or flash.bat file. You might have to right click the flash.bat or install.bat and chose run as administrator.

Click on "Like" if you find my answer useful or click on "Yes" if it answers your question.

    Acer doesn't show WIN11 version.

    I'm running WIN11 on my TC-895-UA92 with R01-A3

Everybody is here to be DISRESPECTFUL TO YOU.

Here is the R01-A3 Bios file so you can answer your own questions "SKILLED FIXER" then BASH me or ACER and other contributors here.

This forum is getting STRESSFUL with people like you. Take some deep breaths, slow down and help up without BASHING.

Updating ACER BIOS via DEVICE MANAGER FIRMWARE is a big joke. Do you ever do any research or just BASH people, Mr. SKILL FIXER.

I posted the BIOS file so that you could read the instructions in the Appendix.

It seems that you have never installed an Acer Bios ???

THAT is an broad example Have you not read the Appendix ?

The second part of the APPENDIX

I'm done here as you can not understand by my screen shots that my device manager is not the same as yours and I uploaded the R01-A-3. THERE IS NO R01-A4. I suppose that ACER had to use some name as a example ??????

How does the APPENDIX of your BIOS read ???

Accept it as is and move on.

I installed it maybe a year ago and have helped others with similar updates.

I'm surprise that your device manager is different than mine if it is WIN 11 ???

So where does your DELL say to update the BIOS ??

If you'd look at my screenshot 6, I have all of that but nothing about BIOS.

WHAT model ACER computer, windows and BIOS level do you have ?? NOT THE DELL but the ACER

Could you and Larryodie please not use my post to carry on your war of words? Since it is my post I get an email any time someone replies. I have done everything I know how to do to get out of this but to no avail so I just delete the replies. I have found the answer to my original question. I downgraded to Windows 10 and Windows Update installed the latest and greatest Acer BIOS. I don't need help anymore.

    Thank you both,

    Randy

When you unzip, you'll see 5 folders, Appendix, EFI, ROM , UCP and WIN. Do as the instructions and copy the UCP folder to a bootable USB,

PLEASE MAKE THIS A NEW THREAD.
