I have a very old laptop, the 4720, that I haven't used for a long time. Recently, I changed the HDD to an SSD and installed Windows 8.1 64-bit, as I couldn't download the Windows 7 ISO file from the Microsoft website. However, I encountered a problem during this process. I formatted the new SSD three times, hoping to resolve the issue without relying on Windows Update, but that didn't lead anywhere.
Here's the issue I'm facing: Every time I install Windows, the Wi-Fi works perfectly fine. I even changed the settings to not install Windows updates automatically, only to receive notifications. However, despite this, Windows installs something, and after a restart, the Wi-Fi is either disabled or not starting up.
Could you please help me find the Wireless LAN Drivers for Windows 8.1 64-bit so that I can at least connect to the internet? By the way, the Acer driver cannot be installed since it requires an internet connection and .NET 3.5
