If I run "sudo rm -rf /" on an Aspire A515-45, Does the bios get deleted too?

I've heard horror stories about how doing the command in question can delete the bios and hard brick your computer. Is this possible? I used to run it all the time in other computers.

    High level operating system commands shouldn't touch the BIOS firmware. Usually only proprietary apps & BIOS updates can do this inside OS environments. Your command as written with forward slash root notation would likely only be allowed to run on attached drives & partitions, not the current boot drive's root structure
