Hi, all. My nephew spilled soda on his AN515-58-5046 Nitro 5, and it needs a new motherboard. I’ve searched for replacements, to no avail. Does anyone know if other AN515 boards are compatible with this model? If so, any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I recommend bringing your laptop to Acer Services in your country, replacing a laptop MOBO is not a DIY job and should be left to competent technicians with the full Acer support/resources.

That is very unfortunate for such a good gaming laptop and such a new laptop, what I would do first is to get into contact with Acer Tech Support in your country and ask them if they will fix/replace this board under warranty, as you might be lucky as sometimes, they might do so?

If not, then a liquid spill/damaged mainboard "in the majority of cases" is fixable and does NOT mean or designate the mainboard unfixable or does it mean that you just throw the board away! Take your mainboard to an experienced technician that has the experience and knowledge to fix liquid affected mainboards and replace its burned/shorted chips (unless and if it's not the CPU or GPU that are damaged, which 100% of times these components can't be replaced and will designate a mainboard unfixable.

There are allot of technicians that can and will fix your AN515-58 mainboard. I know of two such techs that are experts at doing this, and if they can't fix your board then its unfixable, as they have the extensive knowledge and tools to fix your mainboard and they are:

    1. In the UK - Sorin Electronics - have a look at his YouTube channel at: Electronics Repair School - Sorin is a master at fixing liquid damaged mainboards!
    2.   In the US California - NorthbridgeFix - Alex is also an expert at fixing mainboards and he has a YouTube channel at: NorthbridgeFix

Get a quote from these two guys as they are both the best there is to fix a damaged liquid board and it will be much cheaper than buying a new mainboard for your Nitro AN515-58 laptop.

Your Nitro 5 - AN515-58-5046 has the following main specs: i5-12500H CPU / GN20-P1 – RTX3050Ti GPU / 16GB RAM / 512GB M.2 SSD, the mainboard to replace are the highlighted boards below in that list, but you can fit all the other mainboards listed below also, as they will all also fit into the same case as your laptop, if you want to go down that route of buying a new mainboard?

Be aware that these mainboards are very hard to get on the web (enquire at Acer in your country where to get these mainboards or ask if they can get this mainboard for you? As replacing the mainboard/components is a pretty easy but a very long and laborious job), Also be aware that a new mainboard will also be very expensive for such a new laptops mainboard, as a new mainboard could cost you probably as much 2/3 of a new AN515-56 or as much as a used previous model Nitro like an AN515-57 or an AN515-56 laptops. Good luck and hope this helps you out to repair your laptop.
