acer nitro 7 - my screen and hinge have popped out??

my laptop has been sitting in the same spot for well over a month and i went to shut it the other night and i heard this weird click noise to turn on my phone flashlight to see that the right side of my screen is popping off and the hinge feels loose, i have been opening and shutting it every night before and there is nothing i could’ve done to make this happen. i’ve been using this computer for school and im going into my last year of highschool and this laptop is very important to me, as it is all i have to do work on, when it was bought for me it was purchased with a warranty that was used as one day the fan was making a loud click noise. because of that i don’t think i can have my laptop sent in again so for that reason i am here looking for anyone who can tell me what i can do to atleast have my laptop be durable enough to last the year of school. there is no explanation behind this to me besides to my research it’s just been opened and closed so many times. i hope someone replies to this, thank you :(

Not much you can do about that. Try a makeshift repair with 2 component epoxy adhesive and leave the screen open as this will remain a very weak spot. Alternatively bring the laptop to Acer Services in your country to replace the panel and hinge assembly, that may cost several hundred USD depending on the country.

so if i epoxy it, will it shut at all? the screen is being held together by plastic clips wouldnt epoxy be better anyway 😅

Little screws that attach the metal hinge to the plastic panel were torn out, epoxy will keep everything together but won't be able to sustain the huge force when opening the lid. That is why I wrote keep the lid open. You can close the lid as that pushes the hinge inside the panel (no stress) but opening will pull the hinge loose again or crack the bezel/screen. Best to look for a cheap tablet to bring to school.
