Hi.

Yesterday my laptop just turned itself off. I heard a click noise and the laptop powered off in an instant. First I thought it was my house turning the electricity off because it was in the middle of a storm, and we might have gotten hit by lightning, but no such thing. Then I felt the keyboard on the laptop, and it was super hot. I waited for a bit for the laptop to cool down, then turned it on again and launched NitroSense where I - to my horror discovered that the CPU has been peaking at 91 degrees Celsius. I turned the laptop off again, waited half an hour for it to cool down, and now I notice that the CPU goes to around 88 degrees with like 50% CPU usage. This cannot be normal. It's also causing me to stutter very badly in the games I play, making gaming essentially impossible for me. I've read many forum posts and tried their solutions but nothing works. Is my CPU fried? How can I tell? The only solution I have left that I haven't tried is reapplying new thermal paste.

    @Denkadank try to clean the fans and vents, and reapply the thermal paste. The laptop is overheating causing throttling and shutting itself down.

    Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
    Thank you and have a nice day!

    @Build Now GG Your laptop's sudden shutdown and high CPU temperatures suggest overheating issues. The click noise might indicate hardware stress. Reapplying thermal paste could help, but consider professional diagnostics if problems persist.

It will show you chose an option, continue, troubleshoot.   If it is not going to repair mode, turn off the computer.  Turn on the computer.  Hold the right alt key ( alt gr or alt car or alt )  and then tap f10 continuously.  It will go to chose an option continue and troubleshoot. click on keep my files  ( only applications will be lost )   chose your account and type your password   - click on local reinstall  - click on reset
    It will be in progress If the keep my files option is not working Go to troubleshoot  -  click on reset this pc – click on remove everything – click on local reinstall – just remove my files – click on reset

    It will reinstall windows. If the just remove my files is not working. Go to troubleshoot  -  click on reset this pc – click on remove everything – click on local reinstall – Fully clean the drive – click on reset
    It will reinstall windows. Note: You can also go to chose an option , continue , troubleshoot by holding the alt key + tapping f10  or alt gr + tapping f10 on the keyboard while turning on the computer.    Once you see the troubleshoot option, you can stop tapping the f10 and stop holding the alt key.   Then you can try the keep my files and remove everything ( just remove by files and fully clean the drive ) by following the steps which was mentioned above.

    @Denkadank

    our Acer Nitro AN51545 might be having issues due to a mix of dust buildup, outdated drivers, and possible hardware problems. Keep your drivers updated, ensure the vents are dustfree, and use a cooling pad to  manage heat. If you hear clicking noises, check for loose parts or hard drive issues. Overheating can also be managed by cleaning fans and possibly undervolting the CPU/GPU.
