Hello, made an account to post here because the call tech support was rude and dropped the calls. I got a notification from the PC that says my disk is at risk. I even checked it using Acer Care Center and it also says "SSD: Attention Required". This laptop is fairly new (1 year and 3 months). I am not a heavy user and I don't leave my laptop turned on when not in use. I fear that if I continue using this pc, I may eventually break it. I need my laptop for school and work. pls help!

Don't use ACC for SSD diagnosis but download GSmart Control https://gsmartcontrol.shaduri.dev/ or HWINFO and check for the yellow triangle alerts in HWINFO and if tests fail or pass in GSmart.

Thanks for the suggestion, however it seems that the app does not recognize my drive SSD so I can't know

Download HWINFO freeware and try that. You may have a bad PCIe slot or Sata cable connection or that SSD is bad. Also check for yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager and uninstall those.

That is very unusual that such a high end M.2 SSD PCIe 4x4 boot drive is faulty after only 15 months. Your PH315-54 laptop has the 512GB Western Digital - SN810 – Model #: SDCQNRY-512G-1014 boot drive, which is the generic model of their top of the range Western Digital PCIe 4x4 M.2 SSD the WD SN850 Black model and this drive should be a quick M.2 drive and perform faultlessly for years! I'm using a Western Digital M.2 PCIe 3x4 top of the range 1TB WD SN750 Black as my boot drive in SSD#1 slot and in SSD#2 slot I'm using a 1TB WD SN730 Generic drive just like your laptop has of the WD SN810 M.2 drive, and both of my drives performs faultlessly and are great and quick drives as you should not be having these problems with your boot drive. Get in contact with Acer in your country and see if Acer will replace this WD SN810 PCIe4x4 M.2 SSD drive under warranty as such a high-end M.2 drive should NOT be faulty after 15 months, its unheard of and should NOT be happening!

Also, not using your laptop is also not good for such a high-end and new gaming laptop, the worst thing that you can do is not to use this laptop. You need to turn the laptop on at least twice a week and get the battery charged and the OS working and/or updated otherwise hardware components like the battery lock up and deteriorate or components become faulty from their storage environments and maybe that is what has happened to your laptop.

Try to reset the laptop and do a Hrad Reset by taking the back base cover off, then take the main battery out, then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery, then take the ram module(s) out and the M.2 SSD drive out, leave all components disconnected for 1 hour and clean the ram and M.2 SSD drive slot pins with an electronic circuitry cleaner spray, afterwards reconnect all the components and with the ram if you have 2x ram modules only connect 1x ram module, then reboot the laptop and see if this error of the M.2 drive comes up again,

if it does then your boot M.2 drive is faulty and you need to change this drive asap, otherwise and if you leave this faulty M.2 boot drive installed in your laptop, this drive will fail, and you will lose your data that is stored on this drive. This is a very unusual problem and with an SSD drive this rarely happens as this WD SN810 M.2 drive must have an internal faulty chip. Get a new PCIe 4x4 type M.2 drive from Samsung like the these drives that Acer also fits to this laptop oem and its in this laptops service guide:

    1. Samsung - 512GB - PCIe Gen.4x4 - MZVL2512HCJQ-00B07
    2. Samsung - 1TB - PCIe Gen.4x4 - MZVL21T0HCLR-00B07

Hey guys, thanks for the replies, here is what HWINFO had to say:

I found a step-by-step process by intel here, I hope this solves it. If not, then the next best thing to do is to bring it to the nearest repair store because my laptop is void of warranty (1 year):
