Acer gaming laptops provide better value for money, Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701 can cost twice as much as a Nitro 5 AN517-55-72R4. Consider if you want an AMD Ryzen 7/9 or Intel i7/i9 CPU and iGPU this makes a huge difference in price ($500-800). 14" OLED or 17" TN/IPS, 300 nits' panels are similar in price but what do you need for work (graphics designers require OLED, gamers prefer TN 17"). Technology: Asus make their own motherboards with advanced cooling like "liquid metal". Durability (chassis and hinges), check the media online about the 2023 gaming laptops but don't buy in all the sales hype. Last is After Sales support in your country, Acer Support is better than Asus Support, but Asus is a lot younger than Acer and they are quickly catching up. Most Acer laptops come with minimal RAM and storage so you have to upgrade, probably an extra $200, make sure you order your customized system as DIY upgrading will void the laptop warranty.

I hope you are not comparing your VivoBook Flip14 with the AN517-55 (double in price)?
