G9-793 Stuck in pre-BIOS power cycle loop

Hello,

I have a Predator 17 G9-793. When I left for work this morning, it was working fine. When I came home and attempted to power it on, it lit up the keyboard and touchpad, but then immediately shut-off and then restarted and continued the cycle repeatedly. I tried doing a hard reset, but that had no effect. I opened the case, removed the battery and then held down the power button before going on a/c power. No change. Acer apparently offers no hardware support for a 6 year-old laptop? Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can try? Acer appears to only offer the option of going to some third-party software support website, answersby, which is of no help, obviously.

Is this a power switch issue, possibly? It's not issuing any BIOS error codes and it doesn't appear to even get to the POST.

Try the Crisis Utility for the G9-793 as this is one fix that Acer lists in the Predator G9-793 SG, but the "#2. Copy BIOS recovery file (in the folder of crisis disk) to the root folder of the USB flash disk and make sure it is renamed to CHRDC.FD" will be something that you will have to extract from the G9-793 last bios version 1.14 and get the guide to do this from the web.

Note: if you don't have the experience to recover or do these bios recoveries, then take your laptop to either Acer or an experienced tech that has bios programing tools to reprogram the bios chip and fix your booting issues, as this is a simple job and will not cost you much.
