My nitro 5 AN515-54 isn’t turning on despite having been plugged in for a few hours. I’ve been busy and haven’t had time to use my laptop in a week or so (give or take a day) and tonight I went into do some work and found it wouldn’t turn on despite being plugged in.

I have tried several of combinations of the holding power, plugging and unplugging, changing outlet, etc. there’s no pin hole either so I’d have to fully remove the bottom of my laptop to access the battery. The only light that shows is the charger indicator but even then if I try to press power it turns off.
Laptop is about three years old and I’ve fried it once before and had to send it in but this is acting unlike anything I’ve seen from it so far. Planning on leaving it plugged in over night and hoping the issue resolved itself.

3-year-old battery, maybe time to replace it for a new one. Try to reset the power supply, unplug, open the back of the laptop (use a precision laptop screwdriver set, or you may strip the small screws), disconnect the battery cable from the MOBO and locate the round CMOS capsule under the main battery (see picture of AN15-53 but the CMOS is the same as AN15-54), open the CMOS housing, take the coin battery out and shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS housing (this resets also BIOS), put the coin battery back in with the + sign up, close the CMOS housing, reseat the DDR4 modules in the slots and press the Power Button on the keyboard for a minute (don't toggle). Close the back and plug-in the adapter, try to boot without battery first if that works, connect the battery and try to boot again without adapter and with adapter. If you can only boot without the battery you have a dead cell and need to replace the battery.
