acer Aspire 3 (A315-58) USB Root Hub driver issue - Windows 11

Hi all, I've got a pesky driver issue going on with my father's new Acer Aspire 3 (A315-58-36FN).

In the last couple of weeks he has been unable to connect a mouse to use because the laptop chooses to forget that it has USB ports and Bluetooth capabilities, but the trackpad/touchpad works fine.

When I try to update the drivers it says the latest drivers are already installed so there's nothing I can do there.

After a bit of stuffing around I found that deleting the USB Root Hub driver and restarting the computer did the trick and everything was all sweet and fires back into gear - even though it says the most recent driver was already installed.

Fast forward three or four days and it does it again, rinse and repeat with the quick fix, wait another three days and again the problem returns.

I initially thought it may have been a Windows 11 issue, but I've run all the latest updates and the problem still persists.

Is there anything I can do to permanently fix the USB Root Hub driver from being a pest or is it likely a hardware issue and best to just take the laptop back for a refund?

It's an easy enough fix for me to guide them through fixing over the phone, but with my dad being an impatient grumpy lad, whenever the mouse stuffs up you would think it was the end of the world.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
