I have an Aspire 3 A315-31-POSY. Put a battery in it. It shows 100% at first but then doesn’t detect it. I’ve. Tried pushing the reset and power button for 1 min and waiting for the orange light to turn blue. I’ve tried power cycle. Also in device manager uninstall drivers and I can not update Bios with battery in it. Any ideas ???

Did you change the A315-31 laptops battery with a correct battery like they are listed below from the A315-31s service manual:

If you did the above correctly, then your laptop might need a "Hard Reset" because its battery was changed, to do that, undo the back base cover and unscrew the 17 screws of the back cover, take the main battery out and the RTC/BIOS battery out, short the + & - pins on the mainboard of the BIOS battery with a paper clip take the ram out and leave the laptop like that for 15min, reconnect all components but with the ram use 1 ram module if you have 2 ram modules and see if the laptop boots, as this should reset the Super IO , BIOS and chipset chips of your laptop if they were frozen before and make your laptop work 100%.

If the Hard Reset doesn’t fix your laptop then you have other power stage fault issues inside your laptop that have either burned/shorted components that you need to take your laptop to either Acer support to diagnose or to an experienced technician in your area to do the same and fix.
