Acer Aspire One trouble

Please help. Have big prob. with my Acer aspire one net. When you turn on the unit, it appears " no bootable device". What does it mean?

    This message you are receiving usually means that the hard drive is faulty...there is nothing for the machine to "boot" from as the hard drive is at fault....usually replacing the hard drive will sort it out...but you will need to re-install the operating system,{windows 7 or whatever you are using}.

     

    If you have an external hard drive or a disc with an operating system on,you can use an external disc drive/reader to "boot" the machine...if it boots correctly then you will know that it is your internal hard drive that is faulty.
