Hey guys, I hope you can help me with this issue of mine.
I am currently using an Acer Aspire A315 with the following specifications:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz 1.19 GHz
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (7.78 GB usable) Dual Channel
GPU: Nvidia MX330
Storage: Samsung SSD and a 1TB HDD
The main issue is that my laptop lags and stutters even on the most basic of games, including indie-developed ones like Mechajammers when it is indicated that my specs are higher than the minimum.
To give a proper depiction of my problem, here is something that I have observed.
Even my old laptop, which has a Pentium processor and 4gb ram, does not stutter on the games that I have tried to play in both to compare them (Hollow Knight, Factorio, etc)
I have tried almost every type of troubleshooting except fresh installing Windows because I simply have a lot of important documents on my laptop.
- My power performance is set to high performance, I have also tried those set to a 90-99% cap in the power plan and it still didn't work.
- Updated and downloaded new drivers for the laptop.
- I have tried setting up every game that I have to its lowest and it is still lagging.
- I have tried playing it in both charging and non-charging, surprisingly it is slower when charging.
- I have nitpicked, optimized, and even to a point removed the recommended bloat apps just to lighten the overall Windows 10 that is installed.
Still, to no avail, I am still struggling with the stutters.
I am no expert so I am not familiar with the complexities of the internals of my laptop, but I have checked upon CPU-Z and compared my device's processor to similar ones and I have seen that mine was performing half of what it is supposed to.
I am honestly at a loss, I hope someone can help me troubleshoot this.
