I just bought an acer nitro 5 AN 515-58 and i wanted to plug in my old nvme ssd and use that as my boot drive as it has all my data and customizations and software installed on it but whenever i try to boot from it it gives the same blue screen error Inaccessible boot device. I tried searching for the issue and most probable cause was sata mode which i cannot find in my bios. I read some other forums and they said go to menu tab and press ctrl+s i did that and some new settings appeared but sata mode didn't.

If two laptops do not have exactly the same motherboards and OS you cannot just swap SSDs/HDDs. What you should do is make a backup of that SSD on your old laptop to a large external USB backup drive using Windows7 Backup/Image in Windows10-11 or 3rd party freeware like EaseUS-Todo and restore that image to the new drive in the new laptop with a Windows USB recovery flash drive or EaseUs-Todo USB flash drive. Or, after you finished the backup, format the old NVMe SSD and install it in the new laptop in the correct slot that supports NVMe M.2 SSDs with that capacity, check if BIOS detects the NVme SSD, then reboot the new laptop with the Windows or EaseUS-Todo USB recovery drive and restore the image from the USB backup drive. You may have to remove the original boot drive in the new laptop before you restore to the new NVMe SSD boot drive.
