My Acer Aspire A715-43G is Slow - What is wrong with it?

I just bought this from Amazon just a few days ago.

Acer Aspire 7, 15.6" FHD IPS Laptop, AMD Ryzen 7 5825U, GeForce® RTX™ 3050Ti, 16 RAM, 1024GB SSD, Windows 11

Specifically, it is the A715-43G-R83Y model.

Unfortunately, it lags when I play games on it. I can get about 30 minutes of gaming at medium settings before it starts to slow down.

Recently, I played Hogwarts Legacy. I initially ran the game at high settings but the game stuttered. So, I ran the benchmark and the game actually set everything to low. And even at low setting, it stutters.

The game is in the Geforce experience and it is using the GPU I think. I'm just not sure why it is lagging. My Asus TUF with RTX 2060 was able to handle hogwarts legacy better.

Uninstalling bloatware will help a lot, like McAfee, Adobe, Office365 trial, Firefox browser, etc,. Check in Task Manager Performance tab>Memory what the speed of your RAM is, presumably you have 2x8GB DDR4 so your speed should be >2667 MHz. Also check the Startup tab in Task Manager what apps can be disabled that you don't need. Open Storage Sense and scan your drive for junk files that can be purged, click on the Temp bin at the bottom of Storage Sense and it may find GBs of old W10 update records like OldDos that you all can delete safely. Trim your SSD afterwards. Finally check your Windows version if that is 22H2 and fully UpToDate in Update History, your BIOS and drivers will be updated by Windows, click on Check for Updates.

I'm going to try that. I may try to buy additional ram for this.

    Hi @raxus,

In addition to following our colleague's guidelines @Puraw. Please, download and stay run HWMonitor tool while you play your game and notice this drop in FPS performance. Then, attach here a screenshot with the results of all the available sensors.
