Acer Predator PH315-55-70ZV Set battery to charge to 80%, but still keep getting charged to 100%

Using the Acer software, I set the battery charge level to 80%.

Every 2 weeks or so, the laptop would charge it up to 100%, and stay there. I would then have to manually drain it down to less than 80% and then it will charge up to 80%.

I turn my laptop off when not using it. So I am not sure if I always kept the laptop on, maybe it would not keep getting charged up to 100%?

How do I make it never charge past 80% even after restarts or on/off cycles?

Please forget about limiting the battery charge to extend the lifespan of a battery. This theory has not been tested (anecdotal) and is not applicable to Lithium Ion batteries anyhow with a Smart chip inside: The Smart logic diverts power from the adapter to the MOBO after the battery is 100% charged, so you can leave your power adapter plugged in 24/7 without any issues. Disable the option in ACC or uninstall Acer Care Center, you don't need it. Interfering with Microsoft ACPI battery control protocol and BIOS can lead to power issues and inaccurate Windows battery stats.
