My Acer AN515-45 Slow connection 5Ghz wifi

My Acer AN515-45 has had this problem for around 2–3 months. The weird thing about this is that It only occurs on my 5 GHz wifi; the 2.4 GHz wifi works perfectly normal.

The problem doesn't happen on my phone or other devices. I tried many solutions, like rolling back the drivers and resetting the network settings.

Any suggestions would help.

Finally resolved the problem. I had to disable the ethernet and the microsoft virtual adapters in device manager. I dont know why they interfere with the 5Ghz wifi. Now everything works fine again. Took me 1 year to fix this problem.

Hi @minhdaang123 this type of behavior with WiFi networks is normal, wireless networks are limited by various factors such as distance, interference, walls, channel, etc. but 5Ghz networks are special since it is true that they admit faster speeds than 2.4 Ghz networks but due to their characteristics they have less coverage and more difficulties to overcome obstacles since they have a higher frequency than the 2.4 Ghz network:

Do a test with the equipment less than a meter from the router and do a speed test again.

Did you perform the measurement by disconnecting all devices from the wireless network except the laptop?

@Alejandro_AC I did follow your instructions and perform the speed test with the router right next to my laptop, but the problem still persists.

I find 150 Mbps very fast for WIFI, your ping is extremely low and upload speed is great too, what are you running that needs more bandwidth? I work with 15 Mbps WIFI, ping 20 ms and do anything I want without issues.😀

I agree with you. However, the test that I measured on speedtest.com only measured the speed of domestic websites.
What I was trying to achieve was a foreign connection to download Steam games.
Before the 5 GHz download speed, I could go up to 20 mbps, but now I can only download my games at 1 mbps.
The 2.4 GHz wifi didn't have this problem, and Its download speed is still 10mbps

This is the test that I performed on Fast.com. Before I could go up to 200 Mbps

I have the same when downloading MP3 files and big Windows11 updates that I monitor sometimes in Task Manager WIFI. That "bottleneck" is not Windows, or your WIFI adapter/driver related but purely the server/ISP and the sites you are downloading from.

Thanks for your suggestion. I believe the bottleneck is coming directly from my laptop, as my other devices work perfectly normally. I don't think my ISP has any problems. The problem only happens on my laptop.

Sorry, I misunderstood you in the previous question. The contracted speed should be 9x what I am currently having. A few hours ago, the 5GHz wifi went back to Its original speed, but after I restarted my laptop, It continued to slow down again.

That is comparing "Apples with Pears" Different platforms, Android vs. Windows, different network protocols and completely different hardware. Speed is one thing, quality is another and more important, do you have 3rd party AV running or just Defender, are you using Edge for downloading or 3rd party browsers, have you checked your telemetry lately what is chatting at the background, lots of variables to check besides the WIFI adapter.

I don't have any third-party AV, only Defender. I use four different browsers: Edge, Chrome, Opera, and Mozilla, and the problem occurs on all of them. I have looked into the background; nothing seemed suspicious. I also tried turning off all other apps, but It didn't work either.
