I opened up my Acer nitro 5 screen to count the number of pins so that I can get the right replacement, I left it on my desk and my kid bro tried to emulate me by counting the pins with my screw driver , I didn't disconnect the battery so I guess my board has short circuited please is there a troubleshooting process to rectify this .

Hi @Prinuel77 If there is a short circuit, you may have a serious problem on the motherboard, the best thing in these cases is to have it checked by a trusted technical service, if possible, authorized by Acer to verify the problem since you have the necessary means.

    Thank you.

Bringing your laptop to Acer Services is the best solution. Lessons learned; always disconnect the power and battery when working on electrical devices, for personal safety and damage. Leave replacement of laptop adapters and panels to certified technicians. It may cost more but at the end you will save money.
