My Acer Predator PH315-53 used to be very fast; as time passed, it slowed. I think because I tinker with all kinds of programs. What is involved in taking it back to factory settings? Do I have to back up my documents and such?

It is recommended to first make a backup of your data storage drive before doing the "Reset this PC without losing your files", or just copy your personal files to an external USB drive. Type Reset in the Search bar and select the option to keep your files. Reset will only reformat the primary boot drive where your OS is loaded, it will not touch the secondary data storage drives.
