Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help me -

I currently have an Acer Aspire 5 A515-57, with a Dell 180w dock connected to it. Then connected to the dock I have 2 24" monitors, mouse, keyboard, headset all wired into the dock. The lapto its self is only 6 weeks old, and I have had to update bios and various software updates. But on 5 occasions during or slightly after video calls or using audio devices the laptop has become unresponsive and very laggy. I can normally cure the problem by restarting the laptop but this can sometime take some time. As it does not always fix the issue.

I am wondering if this is a known issue with the Acer Aspire 5's or if there is anything I can change in the settings. Unfortunately I can not return or exchange the laptop as I have had it for more than the 30 day return policy, and I can not send it off for repair as I don't know there is anything wrong with it. But it is not performing as it should be.

Any help or advice is most welcome, Thank you

A six week new laptop should not require updating Bios or various software updates. Unless you installed large programs or the laptop was stored for a year by the retailer. Are you on Windows11 22H2 now? I also suspect the updates you mentioned and check if the BIOS update was from Acer or installed by Windows. Disconnect the DELL docking hub and boot to Safe Mode if that works the problem is with the GPU card.

Yes I am on that version of windows.

And the bios version that was current was 18months old, I check what bios I should have on the acer website and downloaded it from there. I dont know how I would be able to tell if the problem is with the GPU card following your instructions to test. As it does not happen every call, just maybe one randomly a week so far.

They are the spec's if they help at all. Thank you
