Can I find the Acer 5600U manual on Acer Support?

Here's the problem: one of the 5600U units just fell into my hands and I think I like the screen. Sure it's old, but I like old hardware. I also like Linux. Trying too run Linux on computers without their manuals is a PITA.

I've searched on Google, narrowed the scope to Acer.com and even searched by SNID & Serial.

I've found the manuals on Manual Lib, but generally I like to get my PDF's from the manufacturer. I like the download them for this reason. I do not seem to be able to download the manual from these sketchy websites.

The EU wants to force Apple to put USB-3 on it's website to reduce e-waste in landfills, but common PC manufactures can't be bothered to keep their old manuals online?

Can someone help me find this manual? I'll be very appreciative. Thank you.

They have a user guide on the Acer support site, but the latest OS supported is Windows 8.1 so I doubt you will learn much from that guide. Just use the model number to search on the Acer support site, not serial number or SNID. Then use the appropriate tabs to get to the drivers and documents.

Click on "Like" if you find my answer useful or click on "Yes" if it answers your question.

There is a manual for the AIO Aspire 5600U on the Acer Drivers & Manuals site, but this manual is a Generic User Guide and does not describe anything of the AIO computer technical service guide. Community Ace ranked members do have access to the 5600Us SG but its only available to us and we can't pass the full SG onto other community members (maybe ask the moderator if this old AIOs SG could be an exception and could be sent out to you?) I don't know.

But and if you need any help then ask as I'm sure that all community members and Ace members would be more than happy to assist you with technical and SG diagrams to whatever you need assistance with. If you want to install Linux onto this AIO then remember that this Aspire 5600U AIO came with two types of bios which were either an MBR/Legacy or a GUID (GPT) UEFI type bios, so you need to check what type of bios you have in your Aspire 5600U AIO, if your 5600U came with an MBR/Legacy bios then here is a guide for the "Arch Linux Installation Process for a Legacy/BIOS/MBR System".

The Aspire 5600U AIO was fitted with an Intel 3rd Gen CPU of the Intel Ivy Bridge-M Processor 35W i5/i3 CPU, Ci5-3210M, Ci3-3110M or later version, but can be upgraded to the higher spec i7-3610QM or the i7-3840QM (have a look at CPU-Upgrade for all CPU upgrade options) you can also upgrade the RAM to a max total of 8GB (2x 4GB DDR3-1600MHz) but this AIO will run on the faster DDR3-1866Mhz type ram modules (that I have upgraded my Aspire V3-571G laptop to that also has an Ivy Bridge CPU the i7-3610QM and works 100% and perfectly) and with the storage drive, you can also upgrade the HDD to a SATA-3 SSD drive, which all these upgrades will improve this AIOs performance tremendously and will make it work with Win-10 or Linux easily. Good luck and hope all my information has helped you out.
