Nitro QG1 USB cable not compatible to desktop computer

I just purchased a Nitro QG1 Series/QG271 Monitor. It came with a VGA video cable and a HDMI cable. My HP Elite Desk 800G1SFF Desktop does not have a compatible port for the HDMI cable. The monitor does work fine without it. Am I missing something by not having this cable connection?

VGA is analog (IBM-1987) that can support resolutions up to 640x480 in 16 colors maximum. Your monitor includes a HDMI 2.1 (digital) port that supports 4K and 8K resolutions with bandwidth up to 48 Gbit/s.
The HP Desktop may have the smaller DVI (digital) port, much better than analog VGA, and there are adapters HDMI-DVI and HDMI 2.1 cables on the market with a DVI-D plug on the other end. DVI-D supports digital signals only.

No problem, just keep on using the VGA port. Ignore the 640x480 in 16 colors comment, your VGA port supports a lot more than the original PC XT. :) The HDMI cable allows you to connect using HDMI if your computer has that and HDMI has somewhat better performance than VGA did. With a system as old as yours though, performance isn't likely that big of a factor…

Thank you. I don't do any gaming, so for the most part I just use my PC for every day browsing and the occasional video. I'll stick with the VGA port if I'm not really missing much by getting an adapter..
