Problems getting through the set up process on Acer Aspire C22

Just bought an AspireC22 all in one. Have got to the point in set up where Microsoft are welcoming me back and saying all my stuff is synced and telling me to restore. The problem is, I can't get the command 'next' to respond. I have put batteries in both my mouse and keyboard and turned the mouse on, red light showing, but neither are having an effect on the screen. To get this far I had to plug in my old keyboard, but that is no longer responding either.

This is a replacement kit, as I got this far before and the same thing happened. I contacted Acer support who talked me through various things saying there was an error but we couldn't get the setup to show us what it was, so he,said the kit would need repair, so I requested a replacement, only to have the same thing happen. As I am not the most technically adept person I am now wondering if it's me doing something wrong, or if I have been really unlucky and received two duff kits . Any suggestions please as to what's happening?

The kit is right next to my router,and I'm using the same power setup as my old description expired due to old age.
