I just bought this laptop ( Predator PH315-54Model Name: PH315-54) a few months ago and it was working fine. I tried playing a game a Midnight Ghost Hunt and the anti cheat program wanted me to disable a driver( Not sure what drive it was) .It said it would make it less secure if I had it disable but I figured I could change it back after I played it. I hit yes and my computer rebooted when it rebooted it said it could not find the boot drive. I have tried everything to fix this but cant figure it out. I hard reset it. Unplugged the COMOS battery and battery plugged it back in. Reseated the hard drive. Tried it in the other M2 slot. It showed the hard drive in the system info at first but now it doesn't. I reset the bios to default. I can't figure it out at all. Has this happened to anyone ? If so anyone have any suggestions ? The BIOS won't let me really change anything in it so I am stumped.

You have two choices, you either send the laptop back to Acer support as this is covered under warranty or you diagnose the problem yourself, as this problem sounds like its the boot SSD#1 slot which is above the 2.5" HDD slot.

The PH315-54 has two types of M.2 drives for different models:

    1. PH315-54 with the (GN20-P1) RTX3050 has - Storage 1: M.2: SSD1 2280 (PCIe Gen4x4) & Storage 2 : M.2: SSD2 2280 (PCIe Gen3x4/ SATA SSD)
    2. PH315-54 with the GN20-E3/E5) RTX3060 & RTX3070 - Storage 1 : M.2: SSD1 2280 (PCIe Gen4x4) & Storage 2 : M.2: SSD2 2280 (PCIe Gen4x4)

Get a new drive and try that out in the SSD#1 slot (above the 2.5" HDD slot) and see if its the actual drive or the slot that is faulty as it could be either.

I ordered a new SSD off Amazon and am going to try that. I opened my computer so I believe the warranty is now void. I did have a SSD 2.5 with windows 10 on it and I put it in and tried to see if that would boot. I did get it to boot but it said Windows had a error and had to restart. I will have to wait until Monday when the new M.2 Drive comes in and see if that will recognize it. I have this laptop PH315-54 with the GN20-E3/E5) RTX3060 & RTX3070 - Storage 1 : M.2: SSD1 2280 (PCIe Gen4x4) & Storage 2 : M.2: SSD2 2280 (PCIe Gen4x4) and I bought SAMSUNG 980 SSD 1TB PCle 3.0x4, NVMe M.2 2280, Internal Solid State Drive so I think it should work if the slot isn't defective. I appreciate your input and will check back after I get the new hard drive and let you know what it does. Thanks again.
