I am wonder if my new laptop supports PCIe 4.0 7000MB/s speed on the main M.2 drive slot.

Planning on upgrade to Samsung 980 PRO

Also later upgrade RAM to either 8GBx2 or 16GBx2

I currently have a 970EVO Plus in Slot 2 , and understand it runs at Gen 3 speed only

PS Playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PC and it looks like this i5 will play it as have already tested it out, at lowest settings. ,I also have a Desktop System for gaming.

Thank you

    Hi,

Yes, you can install a Gen 4 M.2 NVMe SSD in the first slot but you will not achieve 7000MB/s speed, you may get around 4500 mark because that's what other users getting in this model(userbench link below).

You can upgrade memory with either 2x8GB or 2x16GB DDR4 3200MHz modules, avoid using any RAM with XMP profile or automatic overclocking feature.
