I have purchased this laptop couple of months ago, now that I want to transfer files between my phone (poco m4 pro) I realized that its only charging my phone on all three ports, I tried connecting my phone with my older laptop and there it is working fine to rule out problems related to cable and phone.

I've also already tried uninstalling and updating drivers related to USB, other thing is in my device manager option of Portable device and of other devices do not show up

I'm dumb with computers and thing is really hindering my work any help will be highly appreciated.

thank you

You don’t need any drivers unless your Android phone has specific Win-11 drivers for your phone, as Win-11 installs the USB Android phone automatically. Connect the phone to your laptop first by means of BT as you can transfer files that way too, then use your Androids USB charging cord, connect the USB 3.0 plug into the laptop and then the other end into your Android phone.

This should connect the Android phone to your A715-41G laptop, and you should get a notification on your phone, to allow the phone to connect to the laptop and the Android phone will show up in File Explorer by the Phones name e.g. Galaxy S23 if it’s a new Samsung phone and then you can do whatever you want in the Android phone like a USB connected HDD. Btw I’m running a brand new Samsung S23 Ultra and I’ve got no problems connecting the S23 to my Aspire A515-57-UV laptop that is pretty much the same laptop except its 15” and runs an intel 12th Gen CPU and it works and connects 100% and every time and this phone also connects every time to my other laptop a Nitro AN515-56 and gaming desktop that I’ve built all running Win-11.

Make sure that you have all the Win-11 updates done, the AMD graphics and the appropriate Nvidia GPU drivers up to date first, as doing all that will make your laptop work perfectly.

Hi @vijay628 waiting for more answers, look at this connection guide in case it helps you, I'm sorry it's in Spanish but you can use a translator:

I connected my phone to laptop via bluetooth first and then via USB cable, nothing changed:(

Guides in Spanish didn't helped either.

I'll update my windows to see if that help

Sorry, please try now with other cables and other USB ports and tell me, I'm still looking for information on Xiaomi, sometimes an application from the phone manufacturer is necessary, I don't know if it will be the case with Xiaomi, in the case of Samsung phones yes an application is necessary for it to be recognized on a PC.

    Thank you.

Hi @vijay628 I am also having the same issue with my POCO X5 Pro. did u find any solution for that ?

  • Hi @rahulverma966 I understand that you connect the phone to the device and it does not recognize it and it just charges, is that correct?
    Make sure it is unlocked.
Please try with a different cable and another USB port.
As I said before, it is possible that your model needs an application to access the phone, this is my case with a Samsung.

    Thank you.
    All the best.
