Acer Predator Helios 18 - Windows 10 possible?

Hello,

I'm contemplating purchasing a Acer Predator Helios 18 that comes with Windows 11 Home.

However, as I am going to use it for work I need to have Windows 10 Pro installed on it as the operating system.

My question is, is this possible? Or is the computer locked to Win11 somehow through OEM-licens burnt in on motherboard?

Thanks in advance!

/Stefan

You are going to face driver (update) issues running a W11 machine on W10Pro, I strongly recommend to upgrade to W11Pro rather than downgrade to W10. W10 will be phased out in Q4 2025.

Hello and thanks for your reply!

What I meant by "downgrading" I meant a complete reinstall by booting on a Win10 usb-stick and completely format the computer and put Win10 on it.

Will that still give me driver issues or will it be like a brand new computer just with Win10 instead of Win11 on it?

    Thanks!

Doesn't matter if its a Clean Install to Win-10 Pro, why would you run Win-10 Pro on a laptop that was designed only for Win-11 and has no Acer supplied drivers for Win-10 at all? These laptops are specifically designed for Win-11 OS and a downgrade to Win-10 Pro is detrimental to the laptops performance.

The Acer Predator Helios 18 PH18-71-99ER Gaming Notebook for instance, is a high end and right up there in the top specs of gaming laptops available today, this model comes with an i9-13900HX/GeForce® RTX™ 4080-12GB-GDDR6/16GB DDR5 SDRAM OEM and can be upgraded up to 32GB with adding 1x 16GB DDR5 module and a high end PCIe4x4 M.2 drive. Downgrading to Win-10 Pro, you will find allot of driver problems that will make this laptop not work with that OS,
