Hey guys, I've had my predator for just about a year now and I've been hesitant to do a CPU fan swap as I understand you can't remove the back-panel of the case to install any mounts for typical heat sinks components.

My PC in question is;

I'm not entirely comfortable in removing my motherboard to install a new fan, can anyone recommend some affordable fans £20-40 that I can install without having to remove my motherboard?

Thanks for your help 😊

    You will use the stock backplate and (IIRC) slightly longer screws than what ships with the Noctua. Make sure the 12S is correct for the PO3 models, I know the 8S works with them and the 12S works with the larger cases used in the PO5 and PO7 models.

    There are lots of people here who have installed the Noctua coolers, which don't require removal of the motherboard, but do take a slightly different length screw than the ones provided.

    Hey yeah, I've been scrolling through all the forum posts I can find and most seem to lead back to the Noctua coolers. I've been looking at them myself, but noticed the intel mounting kits still come with a backplate to be installed; Will I have any trouble using the stock backplate the orion 3000 is shipped with?

    I've been looking at this one in particular;

    the largest Noctua that will fit in the 5000 or 7000 series case is the NH-U12A, it's in mine and i don't think anything larger would fit, the 3000 is a smaller case, so search the forums and see what Noctua most install in a 3000 case, there are other cheaper options by other manufacturers, but i have no idea how well they cool and whatnot.
